French President, Emmanuel Macron, is going to visit Fela Shrine next week, as he prepares to open the new-look Alliance Francaise facility in Lagos. Emmanuel Macron is expected to touch down in Abuja on Tuesday and head to Lagos after a brief visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa. According to reports, the French President would be hosted at the Shrine by Trace Tv. The Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, will also be on hand to guide the visiting president and will use the occasion to promote Tourism in the state. An aggrieved lady Hopeyemi Hogunsakin has sent a warning message to a pastor who refused to pay after having an encounter with her. According to her, the pastor and his Church secretary had s*x with her in an undisclosed hotel, but they dumped her after she got drunk and passed out. Nollywood actor and Instagram comedian, Charles Okocha a.k.a Amoshine and his hypeman, Wonda Da Hypeman, were dragged into a face-off by SARS officers in the city of Lagos on Friday. According to the scene of the video, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) officers seemed to have threatened them. The two were seen trying to defend themselves against the threats made by the officers. In a video posted by the hypeman, Okocha can be heard saying ‘You said I will fire you, that is so wrong’. In a post shared on the hypeman’s Instagram story, he stated that he slapped one of the officers who had slapped him back. He wrote: “I kuku slapped my own back..make him know as e dey be…I swearu gad!! #EndSARS.” Watch a video from the incident here  

It’s easy to focus on how people are divided along tribal and religious lines, but several people are out there who aren’t letting these  differences stop them from seeing the humanity in others. One of them is this imam from the village of Nghar Yelwa in Plateau State, who saved 262 Christians from Fulani Herdsmen on Sunday. The herdsmen had attacked 3 local governments in the state killing over 100 people, one of them Barkin Ladi, where the people had escaped from. Sharing his story with BBC Pidgin, the imam said he first took the women, number about 60 to his home, and the men to the mosque to hide. The herdsmen later accosted him, he shared, and ordered him to give up the Christians. But he lied and told them all the people with him were Muslims. It’s so refreshing, seeing that some of us are not letting ideologies and religion and tribe divide us. So inspiring.

“Trends in global security denote that cyber crimes is the latest form of terrorism and corruption and this is a growing concern affecting all  nations in the 21st century,” Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said on Monday at the Commission’s Head Office, Wuse II, Abuja, while playing host to a delegation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI led by George Piro. Mr Magu, while speaking through the Director of Operations, Mohammed Abbah, said the anti-graft agency in partnership with international agencies will leave no stone unturned in tackling menace as it posed a big threat to the global world. “Petitions evolving from cyber crimes have been on the increase on the EFCC website. These scams are being duly investigated by the Cyber Crimes Unit with a view to bringing culprits to justice”, he said.
